Based on information from frozen seafood wholesalers and shrimp suppliers, we expect China domestic shrimp prices to move up as China domestic market will move up as New Year and Chinese New approaches and shrimp and other seafood consumption increases. Typically starting 2nd half of October, seafood suppliers are preparing for New year & Chinese New Year sales and wholesalers are starting to stock the product. China’s own shrimp production season will end in November reducing available supply just as demand is picking up. We expect the Chinese domestic prices to be firm from Oct 2019 to at least Jan 2020. Shrimp exporters will have to compete with domestic market.
