Thailand-based frozen seafood supplier Siam Canadian Group has expanded its footprint in South America with its latest office in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
Since 2019, Siam Canadian has established a South American division in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which looks after its business in Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, and other South and Central American countries.

“Ecuador has definitely been on our radar for some time. We are now permanently establishing there and positioning our business to become a major supplier of Ecuador farmed shrimp, just as we have been very successful at accomplishing from our locations across Asia for the past 35 years,” added Jim Gulkin, Siam Canadian’s group managing director.
Richard Williams, Siam Canadian’s director of group business development, said that the presence in Ecuador, one of the world’s major shrimp exporters, was “inevitable” for the company and adds to its credentials as a global seafood suppler.
The new Ecuadorian of office will be led by Andres Fajardo Calero, who has more than 10 years of experience and knowledge in the Ecuadorian shrimp industry. He has also built up strong relationships with farmers and shrimp processors across Ecuador, the firm said.
